The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is seeking a partner to provide scientific and technical assistance for its foresight activity in the field of plant health. The objective is to support EFSA until 2031 through the preparation of monthly newsletters monitoring media and scientific literature on plant pests, which will inform EU risk managers. This initiative aims to bolster crisis preparedness and integrate plant health within a broader 'One Health' framework while utilizing systems like EIOS for data screening.
The selected partner will be responsible for three key areas: first, supporting the production of monthly newsletters and maintaining existing tools (such as dashboard, PHoRiS, and EIOS); second, developing and implementing new methods and tools to enhance plant health ontology and taxonomy-driven categories; and third, promoting the communication and dissemination of the EFSA horizon scanning toolkit. This includes training, community engagement, and coordinating with international partners like WHO and JRC.
